The National Grassroots Campaign to Fight Terrorism
Introduction
Whosoever killed a human being - unless it be in
punishment for murder or for spreading corruption on
earth - it shall be as if he had killed all mankind;
whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though
he had saved the lives of all mankind. - Quran 5:32
This guide is part of the MPAC's broader
counter-terrorism and civil rights campaign and is
intended for Imams, Muslim community leaders, law
enforcement, and the media. More information about MPAC
and what we stand for can be found
here. For Imams and Muslim leaders, we present to
you our "Recommended Mosque Guidelines" for
your review and implementation. MPAC seeks to build a
relationship with you and is always interested in your
feedback. Please contact us if you have any questions at
(213) 383-3443. Or if you decide to implement the
guidelines, please let us know.
For law enforcement, we provide our "Mosque
Etiquette" and "Cultural Considerations"
for interacting with the Muslim community. These
guidelines were developed with the U.S. Department of
Justice and other ethnic communities to educate federal,
state, and local agencies about interaction with
opposite gender, dress, and perception of law
enforcement in general.
For the media, in addition to what you'll find for
Imams, Muslim leaders, and law enforcement, we have
reprinted a series of articles from "The
Minaret" magazine that deals with the subject at
hand. Media interviews can be arranged by contacting
MPAC at (213) 383-3443. If you are a local news
affiliate, contact us and we will attempt to put you in
touch with a local Muslim community leader in your area
that can speak from a local perspective.
